Fading Away is not another war documentary. It is all about the generations, emotions and the memories of our mothers and fathers. The movie unearths and shares never before told stories, both disturbing and heartfelt, of civilians, war heroes, veterans, refugees, and orphans. The documentary is divided into seven parts, strung together and led by the powerful recollection of the journey of a 13 year-old Korean War orphan who fled the North to the South as he recalls his memories and emotions of the war. This Hollywood star was in Korea to entertain the United Nations' troops during the Korean War.
